Aaron J. Crosby, 43 of Albers, IL, formerly of Annawan, entered into rest on Monday, July 18, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his family. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 22, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers, IL. Reverend Gene Neff and Deacon Glenn Netemeyer will celebrate. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at St. Patrick Cemetery, Sheffield, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, July 22, 2016, from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his children’s education fund and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th, Breese, IL 62230. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Atkinson is assisting Moss Funeral Home with arrangements.
Aaron was born May 20, 1973, in Geneseo, IL, the son of John and Sandy (VanKerrebroeck) Crosby. He was united in marriage to Amanda Black on August 10, 2002, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Fairfield, IL. Aaron received his bachelor’s degree in Plant and Soil Science from SIU-Carbondale and currently worked for Gateway FS in Nashville, IL as a Seed and Crop Protection manager. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers, IL and the Albers Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking, but his true passion was farming. Aaron coached his children’s tee-ball teams and was well known in his neighborhood for teaching all the kids how to ride a bike.
Surviving is his wife, Amanda; his children, Abigail, Andrew, and Alex Crosby; his parents, John and Sandy (VanKerrebroeck) Crosby of Annawan, IL; his sisters, Angie (fiancé Tim Crawford) Crosby of Galena, IL and Alissa (Franco) Quatrini of Naperville, IL; nieces and nephews, Mia Williams, Spencer Crawford, Ryker and Kinsley Quatrini, Graham Black, and another to arrive soon; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy (VanDeKeere) Crosby of Geneseo, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alex and Joan (Beall) Black of Mill Shoals, IL; and a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law, Robert (Megan) Black of Barnhill, IL.
Mr. Crosby was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vernon and Esther (Minnaert) VanKerrebroeck; paternal grandfather, Donald Crosby; his aunt and godmother, Pam Mayhew; and a cousin, Kim Adams.
