Alfred L. Duck

Alfred L. Duck, 81, of Geneseo passed away Tuesday, May 23rd at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline, IL. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services are planned. Private burial is planned for a later date at Chapel Hill Gardens in Elmhurst, IL. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with these arrangements.

Alfred was born May 26, 1935, the son of Elmer Duck and Lula Franks in Dyers, Tennessee. He married Carol A. Herrmann on September 12, 1959 in Lombard, IL. He worked as an inspector for General Motors, locomotive division for 20 years, retiring in 1986. Alfred will always be remembered as a true handyman; he could fix anything and enjoy building things.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Carol (Herrmann) Duck, and his daughters: Diane Barton of Geneseo, IL and Debbie (Dane) Kunkle of Plainfield, IL; along with 8 wonderful grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lula, his step father Johnny Emrey.
