Alice V. (Carlson) Jolly

Alice Virginia Jolly, 84, of Geneseo, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at her home.  Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services.  Private inurnment will be at a later date at the Rock Island National Cemetery.  Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials can be made to Geneseo EMT.

Alice was born January 19, 1930, in Eagle River, WI, the daughter of Edward and Almita (Frye) Carlson.  She was united in marriage to George T. Jolly on November 3, 1948.  Alice worked as a Dietary Aide at Hammond Henry Hospital in Geneseo from which she retired.  She loved nature, golfing, bowling, and playing cards.  Alice belonged to First Lutheran Church in Geneseo and the Lioness Club. A devoted family woman, Alice was known for her enduring patience and kindness. She was an inspiration to all and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her son, Doug (Colleen) Jolly of Geneseo; grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Jolly, George (Merriam) Jolly, all of Geneseo, and Cara Jolly of Los Angeles, CA; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kassandra, Alexa, and Ava Jolly; brothers, Frank “Swede” (Pat) Carlson and Hank (Sandy) Carlson of Eagle River, WI; sisters, Louise (Neal) Larson of Conover, WI and Marion Richards of St. Germain, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Dale Jolly in 2007 and her husband, George Jolly, in 2012.
