B. Elaine Hogue

B. Elaine Hogue, 93, of rural Geneseo, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 at Hammond Henry Long Term Unit in Geneseo. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo. Reverend Dr. Chris Ritter will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family requests that casual attire be worn. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service (10:00-11:00 a.m.) on Saturday. Memorials may be left to the Geneseo Humane Society.

Elaine was born on August 14, 1924, the daughter of Donald and Carrie (Woehr) Bollen, in Geneseo, IL. She graduated from Geneseo High School in the class of 1942.  Elaine was united in marriage to Dwain C. Hogue in 1944; he preceded her in death in 1996. Elaine spent her life as a homemaker, assisting her husband Dwain on the family farm for many years.  She enjoyed tending to her large garden, loved her animals, and was a wonderful cook who loved making large meals for her family. Her grandchildren & great-grandchildren were the light of her life! Elaine was a Henry County Farm Bureau member and a life-long member of First United Methodist Church in Geneseo.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Bill (Lisa) Hogue, Geneseo, IL, and James (Peggy) Hogue, Geneseo, IL. Her grandchildren are Paula, Jodi Hogue & Andre Loggins, Alicia & Jamie Williamson, Nathan Hogue & Tia Horton, Christopher & Morgan, Michelle, and Jamie & Ben Temperley. Her nine great-grandchildren are Ryland, Emmery, and Paisley Williamson, Hudson and Isabella Hogue, and Ethan, Sienna Rose, Ella Grace, and Liana Faith Temperley.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Carrie, her husband, Dwain Hogue, son, Michael Hogue, and two sisters.
