Carl S. Watson

Carl S. Watson, 93, of Geneseo, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Geneseo Good Samaritan.  A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, September 3rd at Vandemore Funeral Homes, Geneseo.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded by the Don Cherry VFW Post # 5083.  Visitation for Carl will be from 11 am – 1 pm, 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Carl Watson Memorial Fund.

Carl was born on October 19, 1921 in Kelso, Arkansas the son of Walter and Emma Watson.  After high school he attended DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL.  Carl was united in marriage to Phyllis E. Goembel on January 8, 1945 in Bremerton, WA.  He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII.  He owned and operated Watson T.V. & Appliance Store in Geneseo for 40 years.  Carl was a member of the Stewart Masonic Lodge #92 AF & AM and the American Legion.  He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Geneseo Country Club for many years.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis; sons: Todd (Lynn) Watson of Fisher, IN, Larry Watson of Seattle, WA; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
