Chester C. Weber

October 4, 1920 ~ May 11, 2015 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Chester C. Weber, 94, of Geneseo, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline with his family by his side.  A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15th at Vandemore Funeral Homes, Geneseo.  Pastor Kip Hamby from Harvest Bible Chapel will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  A visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chester Weber Memorial Fund.

 

Chet was born on October 4, 1920, in rural Geneseo, IL, the son of Casper and Viola (Hoover) Weber.  He was united in marriage to Dorothy “Dee” Clark on January 1, 1950, in Geneseo.  She preceded him in death in 2007.  Chet farmed in rural Geneseo and for many years worked as a machinist for John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline. He retired after 18 years. 

 

Chet took great joy in caring for others with a humble servant’s heart.  He loved woodworking and gardening.  He enjoyed riding around on his scooter and taking care of and showing his antique car.  Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

 

He is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Jim) Rusk, Geneseo, IL, Mary (Mark) Seaholm, Moline, IL, and Renee (Mark) Taylor, Moline, IL; son, Roger Weber, Geneseo, IL; nine grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Belva Dirck, and his brothers, Raymond Weber, Howard Weber, and Dale Weber.
