Donald A. Piepho

Donald A. Piepho, 83, of Geneseo, was called to his Savior on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, at  St. John Lutheran Church, Edford Township, Geneseo.  Reverend Christopher Bushre will officiate.  Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.  Visitation for Don will be from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to St. John Lutheran Church.  Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Don was born on June 14, 1933, in Gary,IN the son of Arthur and Iva (Miner) Piepho.  He graduated from Hebron High School and went to Valparaiso University graduating with an Engineering Degree.  He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy Seabees.  He was united in marriage to Faye C. Johnson on August 24, 1957, in Chicago,IL.  Don had been employed as an engineer for the Caterpillar Company for 38 years, working in several locations. He retired in 1993. Don loved and was a faithful member of  St. John Lutheran Church where he was active in all church functions.  He was an avid woodworker and Cubs fan.

Survivors include his wife Faye, and daughters Donna (Jack) Holdridge, Shoreline WA, Judith (John) Wiegle, Muscatine, IA, Nancy (Steven) Edgar, Seattle WA. Faye has 7 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. His brothers are Robert (Jane) Piepho, Wadsworth, OH, Dale Piepho, St. Paul, MN, and his sister Alice (Walter) Neath, Chico, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents , three brothers and an infant sister.
