Dear long-time friends : Michael , David, Susan, Steven and Linda;
I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your mother. I have many happy memories of my family spending time with your family... through the years. I was very glad you invited me to your parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration, it was such a nice party. I enjoyed seeing you all again, very much. I visited with your mother (at Liberty) Christmas- Time 2015.
She was sweet and kind to me, even though I don't think she even had a clue, who the heck I was. (HA-HA ! ) She was always a gracious and warm person to our family. She will be missed. Your family, has always been my most favorite Family-Of-Friends to me. With love and prayers for your entire family.

Michael, David, Sue, Steven (Shorty) and Linda, my deepest sympathy to all. We were out of town and unable to attend. I have many fond memories of eating delicious meals prepared by Donna, in the kitchen and out at the picnic table, taking a break from summer farm chores (baling, sorting hogs). Always a delightful time and something I will never forget. Donna and your dad are together again. Keeping you all in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of Donna's passing. My thoughts are with the family. She was such a wonderful person.
When my brother and I were in grade school, John and Donna had us stay on the farm for two weeks while our parents were on a trip to Europe. We had such a great time and they treated us as a family. Donna would play baseball in the side yard and help us collect eggs in the chicken coop.
When I was older, I would work for John and Donna walking bean fields and doing other jobs around the farm. My favorite part of the day was when John would pick us up aound lunch and bring us back to the house where Donna would have a huge meal prepared for me and my friends that were also working at the farm. She was fantastic cook and so generous to all of us. I think of these memories often. She made a big impact on my life as a child

I pray for comfort and peace for the entire "John and Donna Nelson Clan". I am fortunate enough to have been a part of the family from 1976-1977. As an exchange student, I became the recipient of so much warmth and love. I remember the big hugs from Donna and John, whom I called mom and dad because I absolutely felt like family. I marveled at Donna's loving care around the kitchen, canning fruits and veggies, patiently teaching me card games and driving me all over. Throughout the years, we visited and I cherish the times they came to CA. to see me and to make sure that I was well situated and that my husband was treating me well. Donna and John, I have been enriched by your love. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. My deepest condolences to Mike, David, Sue, Steve, Linda and their families.
