Doris E. (Wallace) Goodrich

Doris E. Goodrich, 95, of Geneseo, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 at Hammond-Henry Hospital.  A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 31st at Vandemore Funeral Homes, Geneseo.  Rev. Chris Ritter will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service (10-11 am) on Friday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Doris Goodrich Memorial Fund.

Doris was born on October 6, 1919 in Spokane, WA, the daughter of Earl and Martha (Joy) Wallace.  She was united in marriage to Orville Clark in February 1941.  He preceded her in death in 1959.  Doris then married David Goodrich on December 4, 1961.  He preceded her in death in 2001.  Doris and David owned and operated the D&D Café in Geneseo for several years.  Later Doris worked for Hillcrest Home in housekeeping for 20 years.

Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Geneseo.  She enjoyed crafting and gardening.  She loved her animals and spending time with her family and extended family.

She is survived by her daughters: Caroline Clark, Geneseo, IL, Delores (Michael) Johnson, Geneseo, IL, Jean (Mike) Phillips, O’Fallon, IL; son: James Goodrich, Prophetstown, IL; grandchildren: Michelle Brown, Angela (Robert) Gibson, Heather (Justin) Walker, James Humphrey, Justin Goodrich, Sean Goodrich; great grandchildren: Lexi, Laiken and Tatum Brown, Aubrey, Riley and Ava Gibson, Olivia and Addison Walker, and Alexander Humphrey; sister-in-law: Alyce Newell, Geneseo, IL: brother-in-law: John Vermost; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands: Orville Clark and David Goodrich; son: Wallace Clark; 2 brothers: Donald and Robert Wallace; and 1 sister: Dorothy Hasenyager.
