Helen Louise (Holevoet) Foote

Helen Louise Holevoet Foote, 88, of Geneseo, died on July 10^th, 2017, under hospice care at Good Samaritan Care Facility in Geneseo, IL.  A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 15 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Malachy Catholic Church. Father Michael Pakula will officiate. Burial will be at the Annawan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Malachy Catholic Church. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo is assisting the family with arrangements.

Helen was born to the late George and Georgette Holevoet in the family home in Cornwall Township, Henry County on May 29^th, 1929. She attended and graduated 8th grade from the Brandon Country School.  She later attended Geneseo Township High School and graduated in 1947.  One week later, she started working at her one and only job at the Geneseo Republic Newspaper, where she worked for nearly 30 years.  She was united in marriage to Casper “Doc” Hartman Foote at St. Anthony Church in Atkinson, IL on July 13^th, 1968.  Doc passed away on September 2^nd, 1998. She was an active member of St. Malachy Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, and various volunteer programs.   Helen’s work here on earth is done. She has received a call from her eternal home, an offer she couldn’t refuse.  This assignment consists of a grand reunion with family and friends whom she has not seen in a long time.  Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, gardening, biking, writing letters, and reading to her heart’s content.  She touched many lives in her 88 years and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.  We find comfort in one day knowing we will be invited to her heavenly reunion. 

Helen is survived by her younger siblings, Arthur Holevoet, Paul (Kathy) Holevoet of Atkinson, and MaryLou Robinson of Cambridge, three nieces, three nephews, 17 great nieces/nephews, one great-great niece and one on the way.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Casper “Doc” Hartman Foote, brother in law, Wayne “Bunky” Robinson, and her beloved dog, Tinkerbell.
