Helen Suchy, 86, of East Moline, passed away at the home of her daughter in Geneseo, on October 23, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Hampton Methodist Church, located at 400 Second Avenue, Hampton, IL 61256, with a luncheon and time of fellowship immediately following the service. Reverend Chet McCoy will celebrate. A private inurnment at the Hampton Township Cemetery is planned for a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be left to Heartland Hospice. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo is assisting the family with these arrangements.

Helen was a very special lady. She fought to maintain a sense of normalcy against the debilitating effects of dementia. She had a relationship with the Lord, and is finally at peace. If you knew Helen, then you know that she was a devoted wife to Jerry for 65 years, a caring mother to her three daughters and their spouses, Gay Lynn (Rick) Hull, Jean Marie (Tony) Numrich, and Susan (Scott) Anderson, and her son, Stacey Suchy, along with being a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren, Abbi Hull, Mandy Hull, Kyle Sheely, and Andrew Hull. Helen was an avid walker, and an excellent cook. Her friends considered her a loyal treasure, and she valued their lifelong friendships. She truly enjoyed her family and the company of others. Her smile, joy, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
