Jason Brent Swift

Jason B. Swift, 48, of Atkinson, IL passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Unity Point Health – Trinity Rock Island. Visitation service will be held Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials may be left to the Jason Swift Memorial Fund.

Jason was born on December 16, 1968, the son of Ron Swift and Mary Beth (Seifert) Swaggerty, in Kewanee, IL. He attended and graduated from Kewanee High School in 1987.  Jason married Nicole M. Verdick on September 5, 2009 in Geneseo, IL. Jason started his career with McDonald's in 1986 as a crew worker and became a manager of the Kewanee location in 1993. He then moved to the Geneseo McDonald’s location where he worked as the general manager for 31 years. Jason enjoyed playing his guitar (left handed), shooting guns, camping and spending time outdoors. He was a huge Chicago Bears fan. Jason loved to cook and grill for his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Nicole and sons Brandon Swift, Geneseo, Tyler Swift, Menifee, CA, and step-son Clint Verdick, Atkinson. His parents are Ron Swift, Kewanee, and Mary Beth (Gary) Swaggerty, Springfield. His brothers are Josh Stairwalt, Reno, NV, and Zach Stairwalt, Roseville, CA. His sisters are Jennifer Symms, Cypress, TX, and Meagan Stairwalt, Springfield, IL.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents.
