Jerald P. Dobbels

Jerald P. Dobbels, 43, of Geneseo, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 10, 2016, at his home.  A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Geneseo.  Deacon Harley Chaffee will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Jerald P. Dobbels Memorial Fund.  Cremation rites have been accorded by Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory.

Jerald was born on August 27, 1972, in Geneseo, the son of Alfred J. & Leona (Lock) Dobbels.  Jerald attended Geneseo schools.  He was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church and he loved working on cars.  He especially enjoyed being a farmhand and helping on the farm.

Survivors include his mother, Leona Dobbels, Geneseo; sisters, Jackie (Mike) Wisdom, Colona, Janet (Jason) Shoemaker, Prophetstown, and Jenny Dobbels, Geneseo; brothers, John (Pat) Dobbels, Coal Valley, Joe Dobbels, Geneseo, and Jesse Dobbels, Geneseo; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father.
