Jerry L. Huttenlocher

Jerry L. Huttenlocher, 66, of Geneseo, IL, passed away Thursday, Sep 29, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospital, with his family at his side.  In keeping with his wishes, Cremation Rites have been accorded by Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory in Geneseo, IL.  Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life to be held at Woodbine Bend, Woodbine, IL, on Thurs, Oct 6 from 5-8pm.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Jerry Huttenlocher Memorial Fund.

Jerry was born Jan 23, 1950, in Elizabeth, IL, the son of Emil and Emily Huttenlocher.  He was united in marriage to Marsha Frutig on Jun 5, 1982.  While living in Elizabeth, IL, “Hooter” graduated from high school and worked at Tippett’s Standard Service, M&W Feed Mill, and Redfearn Excavating. After moving to Geneseo, he worked for Golden Harvest, Edwards Ready Mix, and Chicago Street Decorating.

Jerry was a loved and loving husband and dad.  He was a family man and a friend to many.  He was committed to everything he did, whether driving truck, maintaining the yard, or keeping his vehicles spotless. He was a volunteer for Elizabeth Fire Dept. for a number of years.  He enjoyed gardening, model railroading, and spending time with his family.

Jerry will be dearly missed by his wife, Marsha; sons Bryan (wife Brooke) of Dubuque, IA, and Brandon of Carbondale, CO; sisters Elsie Mae Lewis, Charlene Wilkinson, and Mary Huttenlocher; brother Melvin (JoAnn) Huttenlocher; father and mother-in-law John and Ruth Frutig; brothers-in-law Mark Frutig and Charles Neff; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Clara Neff, brother-in-law Wendell Lewis, and two nephews.
