JoAnn Timmerman, 80, of rural Geneseo, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017, surrounded by her family, at her home. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Colona, IL. Reverend Peter Zorjan will celebrate. Burial will follow at Dayton Corners Cemetery in Colona. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo. The Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. The family requests that casual attire be worn. Memorials may be left to the JoAnn Timmerman Memorial Fund.

 

JoAnn was born on December 28, 1936, the daughter of Odell and Bertha (Volcke) DeRammelaere, in Moline, IL. JoAnn was united in marriage to Lawrence A. “Larry”, “Tim”, “Lorney”, Timmerman on April 10, 1954, in East Moline, IL. JoAnn assisted her husband in farming in rural Geneseo for many years. JoAnn and Lawrence owned and operated Country View Golf Course for 35 years. JoAnn was an avid bowler, enjoyed quilting and sewing, tending to her garden, and of course, she loved to golf.

 

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jeff (Kelley) Timmerman, Geneseo; daughters, Theresa (Mike) Rosenberg, East Moline, and Debra (Tom) Ramirez, Colona. She has four grandchildren, L.J. Jungwirth, Jenny (John) Owens, Andrew (Molly) Timmerman, Tyler (Betsy) Timmerman and four step-grandchildren, Robin (Fred) Pena, Stacy (Dan) Neises, Jennifer (Louis) Redmond, and Tomas (Megan) Ramirez. JoAnn is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Emmy Timmerman, Jack Timmerman, Noah Timmerman, Derik Jungwirth, Dominik Jungwirth, and Jaidyn Owens, and eight step-great-grandchildren. JoAnn is survived by her brother, Richard (LouAnn) DeRammelaere, East Moline, and her sisters, Janet Walker, East Moline, and June McBee, Fennimore, WI.

 

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, her parents, Odell and Bertha, infant son, Kenneth Timmerman, grandson, Luke Timmerman, and her brother, Renee.
