Jule Ann Hulteen

Jule Ann Hulteen, 85, of Annawan, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo. A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Annawan. Reverend Sebastian Tumusiie will celebrate. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Annawan. Visitation for Jule Ann will be on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd., Atkinson. A Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be directed to Hillcrest Home or the Annawan/Alba Rescue Squad.

Jule Ann was born on December 7, 1926, in Sheffield, IL, the daughter of Tom and Catherine Morrissey Gorman. She was a 1944 graduate of Manlius High School and attended DeKalb College. Jule Ann was a longtime grade school teacher, first in the Gold Township one-room schoolhouse, and then later at Sacred Heart Catholic School, Annawan. She then taught at St. Malachy Catholic School, Geneseo, and retired in 1973. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Annawan, and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. She was an avid Annawan Braves fan and supporter and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Sue (Bruce) Eilers, Annawan, Sharon (John) McGovern, Scottsdale, AZ and Ellie (Garett) Plumley, Geneseo; nine grandchildren, Tom, Juli, and Scott Eilers, Natalie, Katie, and Molly (Matt) McGovern Woodall, Chad (Michele), Chris (Kristen) and Shaun Stout; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary DeBrock, Princeton, Il, and Ann Warkins, Morton, Il.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, Dale, and brother, Tom Gorman.
