Lloyd Agee

Lloyd D. Agee, 85, of Geneseo, formerly of Geneva, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 08, 2017 at his home. Funeral services celebrating his life will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo. Reverend Ryan Landino will officiate. Burial will be Monday, November 13, at the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, November 10, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Geneseo Art League, First Presbyterian Church, Geneseo Kiwanis, or the Salvation Army.

Lloyd was born on October 31, 1932, the son of Lawrence and Gertrude (King) Agee, in Sikeston, MO. He graduated from Peoria Woodruff High School with the class of 1951, and furthered his education at Bradley University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1956. Lloyd was married to Loretta Messmore from 1953 to 1973. He married Coralie Kane in 1973. She preceded him in 2010. Lloyd started at Alexander Lumber Company after graduation as a draftsman and advancing in the company to Vice President/General Manager, retiring in 1998. He carried his talents from his career into his hobby, and enjoyed wood working in his spare time. Lloyd also enjoyed collecting antique lanterns. He was a member of the Geneseo Kiwanis Club, Geneseo Art League, and attended the First Presbyterian Church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Sue Snell, Geneseo, Lee Ann (Randy) Hoovey, Geneseo, Terry (Stephen) Wargo, Rochelle, IL, David (Christine) Agee, Naperville, IL, Julie (Matthew) Pausch, Bloomfield Hills, MI, Daniel (Nancy) Agee, Venice, FL, and Douglas Agee, Geneva, IL. His grandchildren are Andrew, Austin, Ryan, Rachel, Sarah, Dana, Laura, Dennis, Kristen, and Melissa. Lloyd is also survived by his four great-grandchildren, Abigail, Elizabeth, Miriam, and Jack. His brother, Lyndel (Delores) Agee, Peoria, IL, and his sister, Wanda Barrett, Peoria, IL, also survive him.
