Margaret M. (Gabriel) Buyck

Margaret M. Buyck, 99, of Geneseo passed away Monday, March 23, 2015, at Hammond Henry Hospital, Long Term Care, Geneseo.  A Funeral Mass celebrating Margaret’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m.,  Thursday, March 26, 2015, at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Geneseo.  Reverend Michael Pakula will celebrate.  Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Geneseo.  Visitation for Margaret will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m. (one hour prior to the service) Thursday, March 26th at the church.  Memorials may be left to St. Malachy Catholic Church or St. Malachy School.  Vandemore Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Margaret was born December 21, 1915, in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Hortensine (Duytschaver) Gabriel.  She was united in marriage to Charles Buyck on December 31, 1936, in Geneseo.  He preceded her in death in 1995.  Margaret assisted Charles in farming in rural Geneseo, and she was a homemaker in her own home.  She was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church and loved all her pets.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Schuter and Bertha Gabriel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and four brothers.
