Marjorie M. Fiers

Marjorie M. Fiers, 88, of Geneseo, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Hammond Henry Hospital Long Term Care.  A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 27th at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Geneseo.  Father Michael Pakula will celebrate.  Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Geneseo.  Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 26th at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Geneseo, where a scripture rosary will be recited at 5 p.m.  Memorials may be made to Marjorie Fiers Memorial Fund.

Marjorie was born on March 5, 1928, in Geneseo, IL the daughter of John and Alice (Marten) Fiers, Sr.  She graduated from Geneseo High School.  She worked as an office clerk for Wirth Plumbing and Heating. Marjorie was a lifetime member of St. Malachy Catholic Church and Circle. She enjoyed flower gardening, baking, and traveling with family. She liked attending craft fairs with her sisters and attending her nieces and nephews sports activities, especially high school football.  She belonged to a bunco club and enjoyed coffee at McDonald's with friends.

She is survived by her brother, John (Nancy) Fiers, Jr., Geneseo, IL; brothers-in-law, Gary (Maxine) Wahlheim, Geneseo, IL, and Don Buechler, Geneseo, IL; nieces and nephews, Steve (Julie) Fiers, Geneseo, IL, Susan Fiers, Schaumberg, IL, Sherry Leftwich, Hampton, IL, Becky (Troy) Clark, Davenport, IA, Todd (Gretchen) Buechler, Geneseo, IL, Robert (Rochelle) Buechler, Geneseo, IL, Debbie (Brian) Hardesty, Marysville, WA, Brian (Vicki) Wahlheim, Geneseo, IL, Roger (Renee) Wahlheim, Edmond, OK, and Rhonda (Kelly) Powell, LeSueur, MN; and several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Pat Wahlheim and Mary Ann Buechler.
