Marjorie Marie (Paulsen) Lewis

Marjorie Marie (Paulsen) Lewis, age 88, of Geneseo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Amber Ridge Assisted Living in Moline, IL. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 8^th, at 10:30 a.m. at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo. Deacon Harley Chaffee will officiate. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Visitation for Marjorie will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7^th, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, Geneseo Friends of the Library, or the charity of your choice in honor of Marjorie.

Marjorie was born on February 23, 1929, in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Henry and Gabrielle (Holevoet) Paulsen. She attended Country School for primary education and graduated from Geneseo High School in 1946. She was united in marriage Nov. 2, 1947, to Ralph G. Lewis in Geneseo, IL.  He preceded her in death on Jan 23, 1999. Marjorie enjoyed gardening, walking, drawing, quilting, needle crafts, reading, and traveling. She very much loved her St. Malachy church community and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors are her children, Richard (Sue) Lewis, Marcia (David) Everett, Karl Lewis, and Gina (Joseph) Massop. Her grandchildren are Michael (Gayle) Lewis, Donna (Jim) Brady, Gabrielle Lewis, Nick Lewis, Lindsey (Eric) DeWall, and Stacey (Troy) House. Marjorie is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Brynn, Zach, Lauren, Katie, Audrey, June and Eli, her sister Louise (Ivan) Wildemuth, brother Albert (Anne) Paulsen, and friend Dathan Kerber.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Gabrielle (Holevoet) Bergdahl and Henry Paulsen, husband, Ralph Lewis, sister, Elaine Turner, and grandson, Timmy.
