To the family:

Although I do not know you personally, I want to share my heartfelt sympathy at the loss of your mother.  I always asked for her to help me when I went into Four Seasons, and we had many a great chat - from fashion to farming!  Such a lovely, lovely, woman.  May the Holy Spirit comfort you at this sad time. We all are better for knowing her.

Bernadine & Chuck --- I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom.  You were a wonderful daughter and son-in-law to her and I know how proud she was of you.  Noah was an extra special blessing in her life, as children teach us how to live and love.  I am sure she is happy to be with your Dad and brother again.  My thoughts and prayers are with all your family too -- Barb, Rodger, & Jimmy.  Love and hugs!  Connie

Rodger and Jimmy:

In between tears for your loss, I have many smiles and even chuckles of joy of the brief time recently I got to share with your mom with you two.  It was so much fun to be with you all at the country club for dinner and how you included both families in that Easter celebration.  Marjorie was so cute picking out her dress with Rodger and being such a sweetheart sharing with everyone.  I still laugh with joy how much she loved to share and talk with you two, especially Jimmy at times, and how we got to joking "I could be riding in the trunk and they wouldn't notice."  She was so much fun to spend time with.

Rodger, I think it was so totally Christian how many times you took her to mass with you.  That is unfortunately so unusual these days but means so much both to our loved ones and our Lord and Savior.  I also know how many times you would race up there to her to respond to her needs, check on her or just get her something she wanted.  You have a special place in Heaven next to her for that.

I know it meant the world to her in most recent times that you both were so unconditional about wanting her to come stay with you if needed to be safe and well.  That is true family and she must have felt so very loved that she was wanted that much by her son(s).  Being cared for that special by some takes any pain away from any who don't.  Having you and Jimmy there right next to her day and night as she passed must have wrapped her tight in love and peace into the hands of angels.

For the last few days I keep seeing the memory I have of her looking up at me with face turned and out of the corner of her eyes with a huge smile and twinkle in her eyes and some quick wit.  She was so special, so much fun to be with and I am so blessed to have gotten to know her the little I did.  May God bless you and all of those who cared for her.

Your friend,
Jeff Sonnenburg

Rodger and Jim ;
I'm so sorry for your loss.  I know how much Marjorie was looking forward to moving in with you and Jimmy. How wonderful that the two of you said yes so freely. You were good sons to her and brought her much joy.
Your never leaving her side the last difficult  week and all the tender care you showed your mother this last year when she was so sad was an inspiration to all of us that had the pleasure to share your company.
My prayers and thoughts are with you and Jimmy.

I always enjoyed having dinner with Marjorie and Barb.  Marjorie was an inspiration when she was still able to work at the dress shop even at an advanced age. I always looked her up to give me advice.  She was fortunate to have four wonderful children to take care of her.  I know Barb spent many hours taking Marjorie to the wound care clinic to get her leg healed.  I know the girls enjoyed going to Annawan to church with her.
