Mark A. Wiese, 55, of Geneseo, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015, at Unity Point - Trinity, Rock Island. Funeral services celebrating Mark’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16th at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Geneseo. Deacon Art Ries and Reverend Ted Radke will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Friday at Vandemore Funeral Homes, Geneseo. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be made to the Mark Wiese Memorial Fund.
Mark was born on November 22, 1959, in Geneseo, IL the son of Clarence and Alice (Franck) Wiese. He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1978 and attended Black Hawk College – East Campus and Louisiana State University. Mark was united in marriage to Julie Lobaito on March 15, 1986, in Geneseo. Mark was previously engaged in farming and then became a self-employed cattle broker - buying, selling, and feeding feeder cattle. He was an avid horseman and enjoyed riding, team roping and raising horses. He cherished coaching basketball and watching his children play sports. Mark loved spending time and making memories with his family.
He is survived by his wife; Julie, daughters; Claire, Davenport, IA, Allison, Columbia, MO, and Lily, at home and his son; Charlie, at home. His sisters are Lois (Wilbur) Floming, Osco, IL, Lucille (Ted) Radke, Mitchell, Canada, Jean (John) Henry, Silex, MO, Jane Tofanelli, New Windsor, IL, Linda (Peter) Gillet, Geneseo, and Karen (Gary) Adamson, Alpha, IL. His brother is Richard (Laverne) Wiese, Fort Worth, TX. His mother-in-law and father-in-law are Mary Ellen and Joe Lobaito. His sister-in-law and brothers-in-law are Kathy (Bill) Hanford, Jim (Julanne) Lobaito and John (Donna) Lobaito.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law; Mike Murray and Joe Tofanelli.
