Mary Jane Miller

Mary Jane Miller, 93, of O’Fallon, IL, formerly of Geneseo, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Cedar Ridge Health & Rehab Center in Lebanon, IL. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Geneseo, IL. Reverend Michael Pakula will celebrate. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in East Moline, IL. Visitation will take place Saturday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Memorials may be left to the Mary Jane Miller Memorial Fund. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo is assisting the family with these arrangements.

Mary Jane was born on June 20, 1924, the daughter of Margaret Collins, in Chicago, IL. She graduated from St. Clare Academy High School. She later received her Associate Degree in nursing from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Chicago. Mary Jane was united in marriage to Howard Miller on January 10^th 1948. He preceded her in death in March, 1972. She was a nurse at the former Moline Public and Illini Hospitals for 30 years before her retirement. Mary Jane was a current member of St. Claire Catholic Church O’Fallon, and a former member of St. Malachy Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Kurt Miller, O’Fallon, daughter-in-law, Susan (Kurt) Miller nee Moon, grandsons, Kye Miller, Santa Fe, NM and Sean Miller, O’Fallon, granddaughters, Kristin (Sean) O’Reilly, Shelby Township, MI, Kate Malley, St. Charles, IL, and Kara Castaneda (Noel), Aurora, IL. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Sean, Natalie, and Kyle O’Reilly, Shelby Township, MI, Connor Malley and Kendell Seelye, Saint Charles, and Finnegan Castaneda, Aurora.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret, husband, Howard Miller, daughter, Kathleen Malley, aunt, Catherine Collins, uncle, John Collins, and nephew, Charles Collins.
