Maury was born on July 22, 1921, the son of Oscar and Olive (Forsell) Hulting, in Geneseo, IL. He attended Geneseo High School, and graduated with the class of 1939. Maury furthered his studies at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. Maury was united in marriage to Gladys Mae Weber on February 24, 1949 at the Loraine Church Parsonage, and celebrated 68 years together. Maury’s life time passion was farming and raising cattle and hogs on the family farm he was born on, in Osco Township. This love for the outdoors inspired Maury to plant a tree every year, and to care for and love his walnut grove. He was a member of Geneseo Kiwanis Club for over 30 years, along with being a member of Livestock Feeders Association, Deere Valley Collectors Club, Henry County Board for ten years, and the ASCS Board. Maury was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church.
