Pamela S. (Buss) Benecke

Pamela S. Benecke, 68, of Neponset, IL, passed away Thursday, February 02, 2017 at her home.  As per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and there will be no services held.  Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice, Kewanee or the Nolan Benecke College Fund.  Cremation accorded by Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo.

Pamela was born on October 21, 1948 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Alberta (DeGan) Buss.  She graduated from Freeport High School and went on to attend Western IL University and then went to earn her degree from Northern IL University.   She was united in marriage to Ernest H. Benecke on January 23, 1973 in Freeport, IL and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2011.  Pamela worked at the Walmart Pharmacy in Kewanee as a Tech for 20 years and after moving to Florida she worked at the Publix grocery store for many years.

Pamela loved hosting parties for family and friends.  She enjoyed golfing at Midland Country Club and going on cruises.  Most of all she enjoyed the 10 years her and Ernie spent together at The Villages in Florida where they had moved.

She is survived by her daughters: Tiffany (Kyle) DeSpain of Savoy, IL, Shanna Benecke of Freeport, IL; son: Matt (Lesley) Benecke of Neponset; grandchildren: Kara Place, Nolan Benecke; and sister: Sandy (Ken) Foltz of Lena, IL.

She was preceded by her husband, Ernie and her parents.
