Patrick E. Schaefer

Patrick E. Schaefer 58 of Geneseo passed away suddenly Saturday December 3, 2016 at his home.  A Memorial Visitation celebrating Pat’s life will be from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, December 7th at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Geneseo.   Cremation Rites have been accorded by Vandemore Crematory.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials may be made to the Patrick E. Schaefer Memorial Fund.

Pat was born on July 22, 1958 in Camp Pendleton, CA, the son of Robert and Betty Lou (Andrews) Schaefer.  He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1976.  He proudly served in the US Marine Corps.  Pat was united in marriage to Jamie Spear on December 17, 1995 in Geneseo, IL.  He was currently employed by the City of Geneseo as the Sexton of City of Geneseo Cemetery Department.  Pat enjoyed golfing and raising and breeding Old English Sheep dogs.  They were his love.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie; his father: Robert (Mary Ellen) Schaefer of Atkinson,  IL; brothers: Scott (Brenda) Schaefer of Davenport, IA, Curt Schaefer of Coal Valley, IL; sister: Deb (Mike) Taylor of Geneseo, IL; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother Betty and his grandparents Carroll and Annie Schaefer, Jim and Berniece Andrews.
