Phyllis Watson

Phyllis E. Watson, 92, of Geneseo, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Unity Point Trinity Center in Rock Island, IL. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1^st, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory in Geneseo. Reverend Lynn Bergren will officiate. Visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Phyllis was born in Geneseo, IL, on September 16, 1924, to Russell and Mabel (Grant) Goembel. She married Carl S. Watson on January 8, 1945. They were married for 70 years before Carl died on August 8, 2015. Carl and Phyllis owned and operated the Watson TV & Appliance store in Geneseo for many years. One of her hobbies included golf. Phyllis was also a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her two sons, Todd (Lynn) Watson, of Fishers IN, and Larry Watson, of Seattle WA; four granddaughters, two great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Mabel, and her husband, Carl Watson.
