Richard R. Swan, 66, of Mineral, IL passed away Saturday, June 17, at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.

Richard was born on May 28, 1951, the son of Richard T. and Carolyn (Dahl) Swan, in Kewanee, IL. He was known for his work as a handyman and was a United States Navy Veteran. He served his country during the Vietnam War. Richard enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and playing computer games. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids most of all.

Those left to cherish his memory include longtime friend, Dora Swan, his son, Jeff Swan, and daughters, Kayanna (Doug) Gradert, and Clarice Swan. Richard leaves nine grandchildren, his brother, Steve (Karen) Swan, his sister, Linda (Jim) Mechowski, and his beloved dog, Zeus.

 Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Carolyn.
