I just found out about Scott's passing.  I remember when I was at BMI, Scott and I would interview together at new hire assessments.  He had a great sense of humor, often talked of his family, and I always looked forward to working with him.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

I am with the TSA and a long time colleague of Scott's.  Scott was sincere, dedicated, and professional in every way.  He stood out even among the most qualified and experienced group.  His calming presence and genuine interest in sharing his expertise helped make each of us stronger and we are better because of Scott.  May God guide you toward healing and comfort.

I only met Scott a few times, but in those moments you could tell what an amazing person he was. How much he loved his babies, and the love he had for his wife. None of this makes sence and it never will while we are still here on Earth. But there is a rhyme.. there is a reason. You're heart will never heal, so I won't wish you that, I wish for you that one day there will be a peace, and you will learn to smile again. I found this post and I feel it is very fitting for Scott.

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone, from the beginning…to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own, the cars…the house…the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So, think about this long and hard. Are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough to consider what’s true and real and always try to understand the way other people feel. And be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before. If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering that this special dash might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash… would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent YOUR dash?

Jill and Brenna,

We are so very sorry for your loss. Our hearts are heavy for you and words fail to convey the depth or far reaching effects of this double tragedy. Luke was one of Thomas' favorite friends in preschool and he always spoke fondly of him. Luke was kind and compassionate with a maturity beyond his years. Both Scott and Luke will be greatly missed by all who knew them.

You are daily in our thoughts and prayers and we trust that somehow, God is going to bring hope and good out of this tragedy. May He shine a light into your darkness and give you the strength to go on without your dear Scott and Luke by your side.

My Uncle is William (Billy) Eaker, my Aunt Chrissy Eaker asked me to pray for a family who had lost their father and son.  My heart broke instantly.  Then I learned that the son was an organ donor and my heart screamed for joy for the recipients. Then I thought about the daughter and how terrible it must be to lose your father days before the day set aside to praise and adore our fathers. Then I thought about the wife, holding the daughter, and Jesus holding the wife.
Jesus holds us when we are suffering like a mother holds her child who is suffering.
I have prayed for you and added you to prayer chains and my heart has broken for you every time I think of you.
May God comfort you always.

Ride On Angels Wings
.....
Gone now but not forgotten
Forever in our dreams
Everyday the Sun shines for you
Everyday the roads are dry
The straights go on forever
The bends are as you dream
There are no more pains
There are no more worries
You will be there at every party
You will take part in every race
You will stand there on the podium
You will race with the stars
you will ride upon Gods pillion
And if Angels ride on Harleys
Then you will surely travel far
On Earth You were My Brother
And now you are a Star
so glide on heavens highway
And lead the train up front
One day you will be waiting
And together we will ride
Once more again as Brothers
The white line side by side

Jill and Family:
I want to send my love and deepest sympathy.  Scott and 'The Teerlinck's' played a big role in my life.  My childhood wouldn't have been so enjoyable without Scott.  He was my neighbor, friend, and classmate.  I am deeply saddened to hear we lost a great man and a son that surely would've followed in his footsteps.  May the Lord provide strength during this time of mourning and in the future.  Jill, your relationship with Scott is a true blessing.  I always thought your relationship was beautiful...to marry your childhood sweetheart.  It would be an honor if you'd let me dedicate my Bix 7 performance this year to Scott and Luke.  That race has a lot of meaning to me and I'd like for it to have an even greater purpose this year.

We, Scott’s TSA family from the US Virgin Islands, are deeply saddened by the death of Scott and Luke in this tragic accident.  Scott impressed all of us with his dedication and impeccable work ethic.  Just over two years ago he came down to St. Croix to install a satellite system. He worked for three full days in unbearable heat, drenched in sweat, and badly sunburned, but he refused to give-up until the job was done.  People like this are hard to find, and we will miss him. Our condolences and prayers go out to the family.

I had the privilage of working with Scott for 8yrs with TSA. His smile and genuine personality made it easy to come to work! Watching him move up so quickly at work, and adding to his family at home was a joy. We discovered we liked the same places to eat in Peoria, and would rub it in whenever one of us got to indulge in a gondola at Avantis! I stopped at Avantis on Fathers day when I went into town and shared gondolas, and your picture/story with my family. God bless your girls; they have the best Angels watching over them. Scott and Luke were amazing blessings to all that knew them.  Scott was always so kind, calm, and helpful.  Many stories come to mind.... helping me figure out the power washer.... cooking dinner for Alex when she had playdates....always seeing him outside grilling.....he always had the kindest smile.  Luke, what a joyous little spirit!  He had such kindness in him also; one of the nicest kids I have met.  We always joked about how boys were easier.... but with Luke it wasn't just because he was a boy.... it was what was inside of his little heart.  A kindness in his spirit.... a spirit and soul that lives on. I still cannot comprehend in my heart and mind this devastation.  Losing them too soon, much, much, too soon. Please know that we care and that we love you.  Our prayers will be continued for you and your sweet Brenna.  <3

We had the opportunity to meet and work with Scott since the early days of TSA at the Quad City International Airport.  Scott was soft-spoken, always positive, focused on the mission, always willing to help anyone, a true leader and a very dedicated family man.  Scott’s favorite topic was talking about his family.  It is an honor to call Scott a friend.

When people say that there are "no good men left in this country", they have not met Scott.  Scott was one of the good men.  Scott was one of the most honest people I know.  I don't know anyone that had anything bad to say about Scott and I never heard Scott say anything bad about anyone.  I will miss seeing him walk down the hallway at the airport with that little smile when I'd stop and tell him good morning.  I will miss his honesty and professionalism.  Jill, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and always know "you had one of the good ones."

I believe everyone will remember Scott with a smile and his laughter will ring in our ears. He was a man of loyality, integrity, morals and a great work ethic.  He knew how to treat co-workers, family, friends and any person he met with respect. But above all he knew how to lead and mentor with respect. He will be miss by so many that has the honor of sharing space and time with him. I can only say that I feel blessed to have served with him and for him. Men like him are not common and the memory of his - way too short - life will be cherished
God bless you in your time of healing.

To the Teerlinck family, I had the priviledge of being Scott's supervisor, mentor and friend over the past 3 years. Scott was a dedicated professional, husband, and father. I shared numerous times with Scott that he should have his priorities straight: take care of yourself, your family and your community and if those areas of your life are healthy, you will be the best employee a boss could ask for. Needless to say, Scott was one of the best. Hard working, dedicated and loved by all. I know there are no words that I can say to ease the pain of the loss of Scott and Luke. I'm relatively new to TSA's Preparedness & Response Section, of which Scott was a key member, and as I'm in the Washington area, and Scott assigned to our field force, I had just one opportunity to meet him in person before last Friday's tragic event.  I regret I'll never have another opportunity to get to know him better.  But judging by the high esteem in which he was held by all of his TSA colleagues, myself included, his loss is something we all share together.  I therefore wish to express my heartfelt condolences to Scott's wife, and daughter, and other surviving members of his family.  Very respectfully, John Del Campo

My deepest sympathies to the Teerlinck family ... your loss is felt by many you may never have heard about, and it is heavy.  I had the priviledge of having Scott as my training officer for our TSA-Memphis MARS radio program in Feb. 2010 ... and I know his dedication and work ethic was passed on in all he shared.

As a parent I sense the loss of child even deeper ... so much potential yet untapped ... yet even in the shortest of time they can have an impact that is more noticable when they are taken too early.

Grief will pass ... and memories will surround you and you will smile deeper and warmer ... I pray that time comes soon for you all.

Jill and Brenna,

Even though I can not be there in person to express my sympathy, please know that I am with you in thoughts and prayers.  I hope that you rely on your friends (both past and present) and family but most of all your faith to get you through this most difficult of times.  May God bless you and comfort you.

Jill, Marian & Family,  There are no words to express the grief we are feeling for your loss.  Scott was like a 2nd son to us.  As he and Sean were growing up it was alway Scott & Sean or Sean & Scott.  We have so many memories of the boys together.  I will never foget their 1st day of school, they wore matching red shirts with their names on the back.  Sean was afraid to go to school, but Scott took his hand and together they got on the bus.
