Shirley Ann Gunter, 65, of Bevier, MO, formerly of Colona, IL, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at her home. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Vandemore Funeral Home LTD, Geneseo. Reverend Russell Heatherly will officiate. Burial will be at Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona, IL. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be left to the Shirley Gunter Memorial Fund, c/o Service Plus Credit Union, 2110 53rd St., Moline, IL 61265.

Shirley was born July 25, 1939, in Palmyra, MO, the daughter of Burl Q. and Eva (Reddick) Hipkins, Sr. She was a 1957 graduate of United Township High School, East Moline. Shirley married C. Dale Allison in November 1957, in Green Rock, IL. They had six children. He preceded her in death. She married Carl "Buck" Gunter on April 28, 1971, in Colona, IL. She worked as an operator at Toastmaster, Inc. in Macon, MO for many years. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan. Shirley enjoyed going to yard sales, cake decorating, collecting angels and cookie jars, and most of all being with her family!

Survivors include her husband, Carl, Bevier, MO; sons, Mike (Donna) Allison, Collinsville, IL, Ross Mitchell (Aleshia) Allison, Fort Campbell, KY, and Mark (Connie) Allison, Woodhull, IL; daughters, Shirley (Mark) Ziegenbein, Carbon Cliff, IL, Helen Allison, Rock Island, IL, and Eva Rene Pelegrin, East Moline, IL; 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brothers, Earl "Ralph" (Sandy) Hipkins, Geneseo, IL, Ronald (Cora) Hipkins, Geneseo, IL, and Raymond (Dorothy) Hipkins, Benton, KY; and sister, Maryland (George) Beaver, Hunnewell, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Burl Hipkins, Jr, and John Wayne Hipkins, sister, Lena Hipkins, and her beloved dog, Jose.
