Shirley E. Prenevost

Shirley E. Prenevost, 83, of Geneseo, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at  Aspen Rehab & Health Care Center, Silvis. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 7^th at 11:00 a.m. at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo. Reverend David Murphy will officiate. Burial will be at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery in Hampshire, IL on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service, 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Memorials may be left to the Shirley Prenevost Memorial Fund.

Shirley was born on May 22, 1934, the daughter of Glenn and Bessie (Zeman) Truesdell in Hinkley (Mission Creek), Minnesota. Shirley was united in marriage to William Prenevost in 1951. William passed away in 1986. In 1996, she married Robert Brown. Robert passed away in 2016. Shirley’s passion was raising her eleven children. She continued to spend her life supporting and encouraging them and their families. She also enjoyed traveling later in her life. Shirley attended First Baptist Church in Geneseo.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Terry (Mark) Larson, Geneseo, Bill (Susan) Prenevost, Kansas City, KS, Gordon (Carol) Prenevost, Geneseo, Brad (Terriann) Prenevost, Waco, TX, Mike Prenevost, Geneseo, Brien (Judy) Prenevost, South Elgin, IL, Rosanne (Kermit) Brown, Elkhart, IN, Frank (Lana) Prenevost, Antioch, TN, Galen Prenevost, Santa Fe, NM, Marilee (Curt) Pfaffinger, Hampshire, IL, and Tim (Stephanie) Prenevost, Geneseo, IL. Shirley has 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Darlene (Paul) Christensen of Pensacola, FL.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Prenevost, and by her second husband, Robert Brown.
