Steven C. Blakley

Steven C. Blakley, 49, of Geneseo, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family.  Funeral services celebrating Steve’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, Geneseo.  Reverend Dr. Chris Ritter will officiate.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  Visitation for Steve will be held 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 27th at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo.  Memorials may be left to the Steven Blakley Memorial Fund.

Steve was born October 27, 1965, in Joliet, IL, the son of Charles C. and Janet K. (Jorn) Blakley.  He was a 1984 graduate of JD Darnall High School.  Steve was united in marriage to Amy A. Alexander October 6, 1990, in Geneseo, IL.  He had been a truck driver for many years and most recently drove for Dorhn Transfer and Fed Ex Freight in East Moline. Steve was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Geneseo.  He was a fan of the Blackhawks, the Cubs, and the Bulls.  Steve was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan. 

Survivors include his wife, Amy, of Geneseo; daughters, Lindsey (Joshua) Williams of Sycamore, IL and MacAllister Blakley at home; son, Chaise Blakley, who is a freshman at Webster University in Webster Groves, MO; parents, Charles and Janet Blakley of Sun City West, AZ; sister, Susan (Michael ) Schrader of San Diego, CA; father-in-laws: Danny Alexander of Geneseo and Ronald (Janice) Campbell of TX; brothers-in-law, Ryan (Kelly) Alexander -  and their children,  Zach and Logan; and Shawn (Kelly) Alexander and their children - Francis and Leigham; sister-in-law and nieces, Leah Williams and her children, Kayla and Kambrey; and his dogs, Campbell, Paisley, and Cooper.

Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents and mother-in-law, Sue Alexander.
