Steven R. Hutchinson

Steven R. Hutchinson, 69, of Cambridge, IL, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.  A private graveside service will be held on Friday, January 6th, at Rosedale Cemetery in Cambridge.  Reverend Randy Swanson will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Geneseo.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.  Memorials may be made to the Steven Hutchinson Memorial Fund.

Steven was born on December 27, 1947, in Geneseo, IL, the son of Richard Hutchinson and Dorothy (Munson) Anderson.  He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1966.  He was united in marriage to Sylvia K. Leander on June 23, 1968, in Cambridge.  She preceded him in death in 2006.  Steven worked for Wyffels Hybrids for 38 years holding various titles and positions, retiring in 2016.  He was a member of the Cambridge Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Anderson of Cambridge, IL; sons, Chad (Susan) Hutchinson of Cambridge, IL, and Adam (Michelle) Hutchinson of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren,  Katy (Larry) Richardson, Ashley (Jake) Fuller, Daniel and Sarah Hutchinson, John and Brandon Gibbs; great-grandchildren, Rylee, Summer, and Chris; sister, Rita (Al) Holevoet of Andalusia, IL; and brother, Jeff (Karen) Hutchinson of Cambridge, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia; father, Richard; step-father, Sheldon; infant son, Jason; and nephew, Jesse Hutchinson.
