Steven O. Krantz

Steven O. Krantz, 67, of Geneseo, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015, at Unity Point – Trinity, Rock Island.  A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m.on Friday, May 8th, at Vandemore Funeral Homes, Geneseo.  Burial will follow at Dayton Corner’s Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Don Cherry VFW Post # 5083.  Visitation for Steven will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Steven was born on September 2, 1947, in Moline, IL, the son of Raymond and Jean (Roman) Krantz.  He proudly served in the US Army, and was stationed in Germany.  He married Sheila M. Francis. She preceded him in death in 1972.  He married Rebecca S. Zuidema on August 17, 1974, in Geneseo. She preceded him in death in 2005.  Steven then married Sandra Brown in Rock Island on September 24, 2012.  Steven was a bus driver for Pinks Bus Service and Metro Transit for 30 years.

Steven was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Geneseo.  He was also a member of the Geneseo Moose Lodge and the Antique Engine Association of Geneseo.  Steven was the Financial Secretary of Local 313 Union ATU for over 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons, Billy Krantz, Cambridge, IL, Brian (Mikki)  Krantz, Moline, IL, and Mark Krantz, Geneseo, IL; grandchildren, Jaxson Krantz, Lucy Krantz, Grant Vrban Brown, Renee Krantz, and Serena Vrban Brown; great-grandson, Phoenix Jordan; and brother, Gary (Carol) Krantz, Hillsdale, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sheila Francis, his wife, Rebecca Zuidema, and his brother, Harold Bowers.
