Thomas H. Helg

Thomas H. Helg, 75, of Cambridge, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 2, 2015 in rural Cambridge.  A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 8th at Vandemore Funeral Homes, Geneseo.  Deacon Harley Chaffee will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo.  A visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Thomas Helg Memorial Fund. 

Tom was born on March 20, 1940 in Geneseo, IL, the son of Harold and Irene (Beuchler) Helg.  He was united in marriage to Sharon K. Marlow on July 29, 1961 in Geneseo, IL.  Tom was the owner and operator of the Cambridge Locker since 1972.  A career of 43 years of service to many customers.

Tom enjoyed day trips with Sharon going to the River Boats.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter: Kendra (Shane) Oleson, Geneseo, IL; sons: Kyle (Elaine) Helg, nCambridge, IL, Rodney (Cindy) Helg, Andover, IL; daughter-in-law: Kelly Helg, Geneseo, IL; 6 grandchildren: Nicole (Jared) Rubitsky, Nathaniel (Katie) Helg, Ashley Helg, Kristin (Jason) Yates, Brittany (Roy) Puffett, Brandon Oleson & His Fiancee Johanna Duvall;3 great grandchildren: Payten Helg, Jensen Rubitsky, Hayley Rubitsky; sisters: Carolyn Helg, Milwaukee, WI, Sue Kraemer, Travers City, MI.

He was preceded in death by parents and his son Christopher Helg in 2011.
