Vincent Cecil Hannah was born on May 8th, 1947, the son of Cecil E. and Margaret A. (Curry) Hannah in Rock Island, IL. He went to Rockridge High School before enlisting in the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam War until 1972.  Vincent married Marty A. Whitt on December 31, 1988, in New Lenox, IL. They were members of  First Baptist Church in Geneseo. Vince worked as an operations supervisor for Kinder Morgan Pipeline for 48.5 years. He coached boys softball and was a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed fishing, spending time in his garden, and keeping his lawn manicured. He owned and remodeled many of his rental homes with his wife. Vince also enjoyed dancing and was a member of Kountry Nights from 1993-1998.

Vince never met a stranger, he knew everyone. He was always available to lend a helping hand to his family and church in their times of need. He resided in Geneseo for nearly 50 years, so his community ties ran deep and strong. Vince loved spending time with his wife and children and he enjoyed opening his home to them on special occasions and holidays. Among his many qualities, he was hardworking and dedicated to his family and God. He never held a grudge and was always quick to forgive. You could count on everything he did because he did everything out of love.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Marty Hannah. His six sons are Timothy Hannah, Milan, IL, Jeffrey Smith, Lockport, IL, James (Michelle) Smith, Galva, IL, Michael (Dayna) Smith, Minooka, IL, Kenneth (Keri) Smith, Osco, IL, and Kevin Smith, Geneseo, IL. His daughters are Cyndi (Shawn) Webster, Colona, IL and Debbie (Harry) Kosters, Morris, IL. Vincent also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren with one on the way. His brothers are Michael (Jackie) Hannah, Rock Island, IL and Allan Hannah, Monmouth, IL.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Margaret, and one granddaughter, Allyson Kosters.
