Wendy L. Henry

Wendy L. Henry, 50, of Davenport, IA, formerly of Geneseo, IL, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.  A private memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, March 17th at Muzzy Chapel in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  Pastor Stephen Mueller will officiate.  Inurnment will follow the service.  There will be no visitation and memorials may be made to Henry County Humane Society or Concordia Lutheran Church Sunday School.  Cremation has been accorded by Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo.

Wendy was born on May 24, 1966 in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Walter and Linda (Darling) Henry.  She was a 1984 graduate of Geneseo High School and went on to Scott Community College School of Nursing.  She was a Home Health Nurse, currently working for Comfort Care in Davenport, IA.

Wendy was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.  She volunteered at the Father Conroy’s Vineyard of Hope, which is a homeless shelter in Davenport, IA.  She enjoyed being with her family and loved all of her pets. Wendy was a very generous person and was always willing to help others in need.

She is survived by her mother, Linda; brothers: Walt (Dawn) Henry of Naperville, IL, Bruce (Casey) Henry of Anna, IL; nephews & niece: Philip, Sarah, and Boone; several aunts and 1 uncle and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter and her grandparents.
