William K. Rickman, Jr.

William K. Rickman, Jr., 86, of Osco, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Unity Point – Trinity, in Rock Island.  A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29th at First Lutheran Church in Geneseo.  Reverend Lynn Bergren will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo.  Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.  Memorials may be made to the Osco/ Andover Fire Department or the Cambridge Ambulance.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Geneseo is assisting the family with arrangements.

William was born on June 13, 1930 in Geneseo, IL, the son of William and Leona (Kane) Rickman.  He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1948.  He was united in marriage to Joyce R. Stenzel, on February 18, 1951, in Geneseo.  She preceded him in death in 2011.  William was a lifetime grain and livestock farmer in rural Osco, IL.  He served in the Army Reserves.  He has been a long time member of First Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Scott) Hawkins of Elmhurst, IL; son, Rodger (Stephanie) Rickman of Geneseo; grandchildren: Royce (Jen) Rickman of Davenport, IA, and David Rickman of Osco, IL; and great grandchildren, Brook and Bryli Rickman.

He was preceded in death by his wife; sisters, Marjorie Neulieb and Helen Brown; and two infant sons.
