Zelma P. Stufflebeam

Zelma P. Stufflebeam, 84, of Geneseo, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo.  A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Geneseo.  Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday at Agency Cemetery in Agency, IA.  Visitation will be held 1 hour prior (1-2 pm) to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Geneseo Good Samaritan Village, First United Methodist Church, or the American Heart Association.

Zelma was born on October 8, 1932 in Wapello County, IA, the daughter of Clyde and Wanda (Davis) Bailey.  She graduated from Ottumwa High School and then went on to the X-ray Technician School of St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa.  She married Richard C. Hendricks and later divorced.  She married Raymond P. Stufflebeam on September 17, 1995.  He preceded her in death on November 20, 2010.  Zelma had worked at J.I. Case and WHBF before becoming a homemaker after her daughter Beth was born.  Zelma was a member of First United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed genealogy, weaving, sewing, ceramics, traveling, and jig saw puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter: Beth (Ken) Roberts of East Moline, IL; step-sons: John (Sunny) Stufflebeam of Serena, IL, Terry (Jeanne) Stufflebeam of Colona, IL, and Michael (Deborah) Stufflebeam of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren: Tess, Sadie; 1 great grandchild; 11 step-grandchildren; 8 step-great grandchildren; sister: Dorothy Darland of Rock Island, IL; and many loving  nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; brothers: Francis, Robert, and Rex Bailey; sisters: Fern Kirfman and Faye Melton; and a brother and sister in infancy.
