Dolores F. Thomas, 76, of Geneseo passed away on Saturday December 15, 2007 Surrounded by her loving family at the Hammond-Henry Hospital Geneseo, after a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer.

A Funeral Mass be held 10:30 A.M. Friday December 21, 2007 at St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Geneseo. Rev. Michael Pakula will celebrate. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 P.m. at the Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd, Geneseo where the rosary will recited at 7:45 P.M. Memorials may be left to the St. Malachy's Catholic Church, and school or American Cancer Society.

Dolores was born on October 31, 1931 in Geneseo the daughter of Peter and Sophia Vandersnick Minnaert. She was a 1949 graduate of the Geneseo High School. She was united in marriage to Russell Thomas on July 21, 1962 in Geneseo. Dolores had been the secretary for the former Lee lumber yard in Geneseo for 20yrs. She later did custodial work for the Congregational Church, Geneseo. She was a member of the St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Geneseo, and the Altar and Rosary society circle there. She truly loved all her Grandchildren, and loved attending their events.

Survivors include Her daughter and spouse Tracy (Pete) Yager, Geneseo Her sons and spouse Bob (Glenda) Thomas, Geneseo Jim Thomas and Life Partner Gary Gill Columbia, IL Brother Don (Polly) Minnaert, Geneseo Sister Joyce (Bill) Wisdom, Erie, IL Sister-in-law Myrte Minnaert, Genesseo Seven Grandchildren Nathan, Jennifer and Allison Yager, Joe, Sam, Jane, and Mary Thomas. Many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers David and Gene Minnaert, and a nephew Donte Minnaert.

I will miss Aunt Dee very much and will always remember her wonderful laugh. We will all have a very special guardian angel watching over us and cheering at all the kids activities...only now she will be free from pain. We met Dolores at the Community Center and at the football games. We know Tracy through our church and Bob through football. Dolores was a great lady and will be missed.

Bob, Glenda and Family,

We were sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. I know how very hard it is to lose someone that you love, but I do hope you can take some comfort in the fact that she is in heaven free from pain and suffering.
