Phylis M. Crockett

Phylis M. Crockett, 86, of Atkinson, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at OSF St. Luke Medical Center, Kewanee, IL.  A private memorial service will be held at SonRise Bible Church, Atkinson, at a later date.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Atkinson Chapel will be assisting the family with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Phylis Crockett Memorial Fund. 

Phylis was born January 28, 1938, in Yates City, IL, the daughter of Roger and Caroline (Vancil) Baughman.  She attended Galesburg High School.  She married Glenn D. Crockett on August 10, 1963, in Galesburg, IL.  She was a loving wife and mother.  Phylis devoted all her love and time to her family.  She was a homemaker as well as working jobs throughout her lifetime.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Glenn Crockett; daughter, Vickie (Larry) Bartz; son, Curtis (Rhoda) Crockett; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Roger (B.J.) L. Baughman of Galesburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Caroline Baughman; sisters, Betty J. Stromgren, Carol J. Temple, and Myrna E. Godsil; brothers, Richard L. Baughman, Robert K. Baughman, and Dennis N. Baughman of Omaha, NE.
