William “Bill” Dynes, 69, of Mineral, IL passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2024, at OSF Hospital in Peoria, IL. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Vandemore Funeral Homes and Crematory – Atkinson Chapel with Reverend Dustin Largent officiating. Following the memorial service, a celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Hall in Mineral, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the William Dynes Memorial Fund.
William Dynes was born on May 21, 1954, the son of Eldon Dynes and Lucille (Thompson) McCune. Bill was a hard man but had such a soft heart. He was always willing to help someone with anything they needed. He was a heavy equipment operator but had been retired for many years. Bill was known to have many hobbies, such as farming with his brothers, and planting and growing flowers and trees of all kinds. He was a lover of dogs, especially his dog Charlie. He absolutely cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his significant other of 12 years, Amanda Grimes; children, James (Desiree) Dynes, William Dynes, Charity (Randy) McDermott, and Luci Dynes; brothers Harry (Dee) McCune, James (Nicole) McCune; sister, Pam Fjeld; grandchildren, Cameron, Caden, Cali, Kenedi, Zeb, Rayland, Everly, and Lucy B; a great granddaughter, Elena; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Carla Lopez and Nota Hall; dog, Walter, 3 ducks and a long line of Chevy trucks.
