Life Legacy
Joan M. Padavich, 87, of Geneseo, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Skilled Care Unit, Geneseo. A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held 10:30 am Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Geneseo. Rev. Michael Pakula will celebrate. Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation for Joan will be from 4 - 7 pm Monday at Vandemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Geneseo. Per her request cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be directed to St. Malachy’s Church or the donor’s favorite charity.
Joan was born on January 21, 1923 in Moline, IL the daughter of Joseph & Berenice (Kent) Reynolds. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and was a 1940 graduate of Moline High School. Joan was united in marriage to Milo M. “Mike” Padavich on May 23, 1953 in Moline. She had been employed in the payroll department at John Deere Company for 35 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society of the church. Joan enjoyed playing bridge and blackjack at the boat.
Survivors include her husband Milo “Mike”, a daughter Terry Padavich, Geneseo; a son and daughter-in-law Tony & Sue Padavich, Rock Island, two grandchildren Andrew & Sarah Padavich, Rock Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
