Allen J. VanMeenen

Allen J. VanMeenen, 60, of Moline, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel. Deacon Harley Chaffee will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the Allen J. VanMeenen Memorial Fund.

Allen was born on July 30, 1958, the son of Alvin E. and Carol L. (Morgan) VanMeenen, in Geneseo, IL. He is a graduate of Geneseo High School and attended Black Hawk College. Allen married Susan Hancock. He later married Joyce Betcher.

Those surviving him include his sons, Curtis VanMeenen, Kewanee, and Andrew VanMeenen, Moline; mother, Carol VanMeenen, Atkinson; and two brothers, Greg (Merry) VanMeenen, Geneseo, and Alvin VanMeenen Jr, Atkinson.

Allen was preceded by his grandparents, his father, Alvin VanMeenen Sr., and his sister-in-law, Brenda VanMeenen.
