Anita “LeVona” Mitchell, 94, of Geneseo, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at Hammond Henry Hospital – Emergency Department, Geneseo. Cremation rites have been accorded. No services will be held. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel, will be assisting the family with arrangements.

LeVona was born on September 25, 1925, the daughter of George and Ethel (Gaar) Potter. She graduated from Thompson High School. On January 27, 1945, Anita married Lauren L. Mitchell, in Albany, IL. He preceded her in death in 2014. LeVona enjoyed shopping for antiques, flower gardening, knitting, sewing, and baking.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, David, and Jon Mitchell, both of Geneseo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ethel, and her husband, Lauren.
