Billy Jo Wigant, 60, of Geneseo, passed away on May 8, 2018, in Louisville, Tennessee. A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on July 20th, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel. Reverend Stephen Mueller will give a service for the family at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Billy Jo Wigant Memorial Fund.
Billy was born on July 30, 1957, the son of Henry “Bud” Wigant and Carlene (Weidman-Wigant) DeBlieck. He graduated from J.D. Darnall High School with the class of 1975. Billy worked as a carpenter at Hazelwood Homes for many years. His experience and craftsmanship with wood led him to move to Tennessee in 2002, where he was able to pursue his talents, as well as fishing and outdoor activities.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Patricia (Joseph) Fritsch, of Geneseo, and Linda (Craig) Klavon, of Kewanee, brothers, Jerry (Monica) Wigant, MO, and David (Chona) Wigant, CA, step-sisters, Sue (Mike) Zabilla, MN, and Sally Schmoll, IA, and step-brother, Danny Schmoll, IA. Billy is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Teresa Fritsch, Elizabeth (Tim) Rogers, Robert (Ashlie) Klavon, Jamey (Dominique) Valdez, Alyssa and Kirsten Wigant, Scott, Kara, and Rachel Zabilla, a great-niece, Charlotte Fritsch, and great-nephews, Eli and Sawyer Klavon.
Billy was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Carlene, step-father, Marvin DeBlieck, step-mother, Nelda (Schmoll) Wigant, his grandparents, Katherine & John Wigant, and Alfred & Ella Weidman, and Louis Warkins.
