Carol Eyrich Obituary

Carol A. Eyrich, 78, of Geneseo, passed away on Sunday, August 05, 2018, at her home in Geneseo, after a lengthy battle with dementia. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018, at Grace United Methodist Church in Geneseo. Reverend Melva England will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be left to the Carol A. Eyrich Memorial Fund and will be distributed to several local organizations. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo, is in charge of these arrangements.

 

Carol was born on August 2, 1940, the daughter of Warren Dallas & Caroline Ann (Smith) Jones, in Moline, Illinois. Carol was the youngest of five siblings. She attended Aledo schools and graduated from Alexis High School with the class of 1958. She was united in marriage to Lee John Eyrich on December 1, 1960, at Grace United Methodist Church in Geneseo. Carol worked as a Geneseo telephone operator for 22 years and was most recently employed at Hammond Henry Hospital in Geneseo in the medical records department for 15 years. She retired on July 28, 2000. Carol was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church. She loved traveling, picnics, and going on vacations. Carol especially loved spending time with her four grandchildren. She was skilled in handcrafts such as crocheting, embroidery, and needlework. Carol also enjoyed all of the time she spent with her friends.

 

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Lee, daughters, Lisa Taylor, of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Paula (Steve) Schulte, of Geneseo, and her four cherished grandchildren, Olivia Taylor and Logan Taylor, of Cedar Rapids, and Brad Schulte and Scott Schulte, of Geneseo.

 

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Caroline, son-in-law, Rick Taylor, sisters, June and Ann, and two brothers, Bill and Murray.
