David A. Colgan, 52, of Annawan, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6. 2019, at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory – Atkinson Chapel. Reverend Terry Lancaster will officiate the service. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the David Colgan Memorial Fund.
David was born on March 6, 1967, in Phoenix, AZ. He graduated from Galva High School in 1985 and attended Black Hawk College. David was the owner and operator of Colgan Carpentry, Inc. in Annawan, IL. He loved hanging out with his buddies and his son, Grant, in his garage, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He liked to spend time antiquing and exploring flea markets. He had a beer can collection numbering over 2000 collectibles! “Super Dave” was the go-to guy for his friends.
Those left to remember Dave include the love of his life, Beth Wolf; his children, Grant Colgan, Princeton, IL, Brianne (Jon) Skinner, and Brooke (Chris) Vandersnick, of Atkinson; grandchildren, Aubrey, Levi, Ella, John David and Madison; his parents, Deanna and Donald Colgan, Galva, IL and his biological father, Jim Sweat; Brothers, Jeff (Kim) Colgan and Taylor Sweat; and sisters, Angie (Terry) Peterson, Amanda (Dale) Johnson, Ashley (Ryan) Fletcher, and Melissa (Carson) Halsall; several nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents.
