Dean W. Conrad, 84, of Geneseo, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 6, 2019, at First Baptist Church, Geneseo. Pastor David Murphy will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019, from 3 – 5 p.m. at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church and the Dean Conrad Memorial Fund.
Dean was born on June 19, 1934, the son of William and Lillian (Hulting) Conrad. He married Doris Wyckoff on October 24, 1954, in Geneseo. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2017. He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1952 and was a lifetime farmer in rural Cambridge. Dean also worked as a blackjack dealer on the President Riverboat Casino since opening in April of 1991. He was a member of the Geneseo Moose Lodge and enjoyed fishing, reading, and being on his computer. He was an avid flower gardener, Cubs fan, and loved being with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Susan (Tim Janey) Conrad, Geneseo, Dea (Neil) Conrad-Curry, Alpha, and Lisa (John) Conrad-Holcomb, Eldridge, IA; son, Steve (Jann) Conrad, Andover; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; twelve great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; brothers, Wayne (Fran) Conrad, Cambridge, and Dale (Ruth) Conrad, Longmont, CO.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillian, his loving wife, Doris, and his brother, John Conrad.
