Elizabeth A. "Liz" Shaner

Elizabeth A. “Liz” Shaner, 73, of Neponset, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at her home. According to her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Elizabeth Shaner Memorial Fund. Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory, Atkinson, is in charge of these arrangements.

Liz was born on August 15, 1945, the daughter of Randall and Velma (Berry) Shaner, in Princeton, IL. She worked for many years in Los Angeles, CA, in the film industry, where she was a member of the Motion Picture Union, and specialized in painting and building sets for movies and commercials. Liz was very proud of her ability to faux paint, making plywood look like mountains or stone walls and tile floors.  Liz will always be remembered for her very stubborn, yet warm and unique personality. No one who met her could easily forget her, as the song goes “She did it her way”.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved daughter, Cory Shaner, of Kewannee, IL, brother, Dennis (Bernadette) Shaner, of Neponset, IL, her twin sister, Virginia Fujino, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and sister, Suzanne Quinn, of Naples, FL. Liz was preceded in death by  her parents, Randall and Velma.
